Meet the Partners

John Jelinek, CPA, PFS

John is the President and founder of Jelinek Metz McDonald. Ltd. A graduate of St. Mary's University in Winona, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with Accounting emphasis, he was licensed as a CPA in 1972.

His duties with JMM are in personal and business income taxes and financial  statements for small to medium sized businesses. Financial, tax and business planning, retirement and estate planning, investment management and advisory services are specific areas of expertise.

John is also the founder and President of Hopkins Financial Advisors, LLC, a Registered Investment Advisory Company. His responsibilities are completing financial plans for clients and selecting investment strategies which use an active investment approach in managing clients' portfolios. John received his Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation from the AICPA and has passed the Series 65 exam.

He is a member of AICPA and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and has chaired and served on many of their special committees.

John is involved in a number of outside activities including his parish of St. Joseph's in Hopkins. He enjoys fishing, bridge (and all card games), gardening and is a long time Vikings fan. He particularly admired Fran Tarkenton, because "he always made something happen". A telling comment, because John certainly makes things happen around here.
